Date of Original Post ?

I was wondering if anyone else would find it helpful to show the date of the original post on the message listing ?
Some posts or questions that are time-sensitive or old news, could be identified/avoided a bit easier

Is this even possible Doug ?

Doing something such as this requires customizing the pre-written forum software to implement special feature(s).

The problems with this are:
1. It's pretty time-consuming.
2. For any further forum software upgrades, typically any customization becomes overwritten/removed/etc.

I have a couple of lighter items I'm looking at implementing, but I don't think they require as much time... one on the front end (email this page link), and one on the administrative back-end for me to utilize.

Removing features is easier than building in new ones as well.

Since the original date does appear on the original post, one would only need to look at it... Old posts stay 'burried' unless they get replied to, which brings them up to the top. I suggest that one be aware of the age of the post before one comments on it... if there is a problem with discussing old news... :light:
