Don't forget about the venom. At times, there seems to be plenty of this to go around.

I really have got to be bored to death to even look at the off topic board. Nothing anyone says there has any effect on anyone else's opinion... at least politically... So, don't vote for me regarding anything other than Baja related (on-topic, that is)...:cool:

Like I said on the off topic site--what about the meat--for man should not kill unless he intends to partake of the meat of the slain.

This whole thread needs to be moved over there or just deleted. It serves no useful purpose whatsoever.

Skeeter.......ya know I luv ya honey....

But, I have to tell you that I was sooooo glad when Doug created the "Off Topic" board and moved it so the "fights" wern't in my face everytime I logged on to Nomads, it was sucking me into negitive energy and that is just not a feeling that I enjoy......so 'darlin, if it's all the same to you, I don't go there and I prefer not to be included in the "doins" there....however, I'm with Bernie, I've always wanted to try Rattlesnake meat, I'll trade you for some Hamma Hamma Oysters!

The first time we lived in La Paz a friend gave me a rattlesnake he had shot, and I cut it into small chunks, fried them in butter with garlic, then simmered them in a little white wine--quite delicious! A couple of Mexican pals of my sons Steve and Kelly [then 9 and 11] stopped by--separately--and we gave them some, telling them it was "desert chicken." When told it was snake, both of them said exactly the same thing, "Can I have a piece to take home to my dad?"

There was probably some meaningful sociological message in that response, but danged if I know what it was.

Was it greasy or just normal?
Did you cook it with the skin on?

A friend skinned it, and I cut it into chunks, fried them in butter with finely chopped onion and minced garlic, then simmered them gently in a little white wine until the liquid dissolved. Tender, delicious and not greasy at all.
