Alfonso "Poncho" Castro

Tony Tellier forwarded this and I thought some on here might know him.

Just to inform you the tragic news about Alfonso ?poncho? Castro from Rosarito, Baja California, who died Saturday while racing in southern Baja California near La Paz,on a 500 km race only few miles after the start, sources informed that he suffer from chest and abdominal injuries after falling off a cliff paramedics arrived later on the scene but he past away while he was taken on an ambulance to the nearest hospital, he came from Rosarito and was planning to race solo on his Duncan Yamaha Raptor. It is a big loss on the off-road community as we all know he was one of the Honda team members in the last SCORE Baja 1000 and one of the best desert racers.
