Here is where I will try and place all the links (ever growing) to satellite close ups of various points on the peninsula.
I will group them by region... Maybe:

I have found that all you need is one of those maps, and then you can scroll all around the world if you want. Very cool. You can almost see individual hippies as Haight St. goes into Golden Gate park. I can also see my house.

Anyone know if the archive is being updated regularly with the high resolution photos?

Imagine how big some the files must be. Amazing stuff. Now if I can only get my hands on some of these without going broke.

Updated high res photos + Ozi + GPS + Baja = Heaven

The photos for the map are old. It shows cars parked on a parking lot that is currently torn up. It also doesn't show the light rail stations that were built years ago.

Ah heck. Looks like we left the garage door open again!

Well not quite, but I can see the green of my Palo Verde trees.

Thanks for doing these quick links. I loose my position sometimes when I'm scrolling thru the open desert areas so this is much easier.

I have added Puerto Calamajue, Punta Remedios/Bahia Guadalupe, and Santa Rosalia to the list of Gulf side locations from space....

Remember, you can zoom in or out and scroll any direction to see beyond the image I have a link to. This list is just to make your Baja search faster, from a known starting point.

I will be adding more points in the center of the peninsula next, to what I have already started!

green patchz

Cool links David!!
I was checking out the punta abreojos link, and I remember driving by old volcanoes in the area and thinking about potential palm canyons there..
I scrolled around the area on google map, and I found a couple green patches.

http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=26.711884,-113.574257&spn=0.027552,0.042315&t=k&hl=en

Can anyone tell me if this green is actually from plants?

The sat. photo of our area (san juanico) doesn't zoom in very much but I can follow familiar landmarks right to where the trees are in our yard. The surrounding landscape is brown or dusty-white so it's easy to pick them out. I don't know if anything else would show up as green in the photos.

Cool images, David.
If you zoom into the max in El Rosario, you can almost see people walking around the Baja Cactus Pemex! :o
