I think we did this before? But, what the heck?!
Correction on the spelling of one: It is 'Negra Modelo' as beer is La Cerveza... so 'Dark' would also be feminine. Thanks to the Nomad who alerted
me!

i sure like negro mod, but i really want to try the TJ beer. i don't see it for sale hardly anywhere, well never really.

I keep seeing ads up here in Northern California for Tecate Beer, $13.99 +tax for a 30 pack...thats's 30 x 12oz cans...how much is it in Baja???

The TKT you get in the U.S. is not the same as what you get in Mexico.
Also, this list omits Kloster's and the very best of all: Nochebuena.
But, in all fairness, Kloster's is draught only (cerveza de barril) or used to be, anyway. It's brewed in Monterrey and available in restaurants in
Mexico City and the central region. Nochebuena is a bock that is only available once a year around December. I have seen it along the border here.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.

Thanks Oso, I just made the poll on the spur and was listing beers I have seen in Baja. Because Noche Buena is a seasonal (Christmas time) beer, I
didn't list it.
You are sure right about Tecate... The Tecate sold here (in CA) does not taste as good!

Oso listed my favorite, Nochebuena. I look for it every year, but making sure that the date on the label is the right year. I've had to drink a last
years brew, not complaining, but felt like I was missing out on a tradition.
TKT would get my second vote, but I also agree that it tastes better in Mexico.

Odd about complaints that tecate is not the same in the U.S. The brewery does not have a seperate run that only goes to the States. It's the same
stuff. There IS a difference in the product from Baja and the mainland. Check the label to see where it was brewed.

Mike, you can find it in the Smart & Finals down here. But for the REAL DEAL go to the brewery. If you are free some Wednesday I will meet you
and/or any other nomad interested there.

I voted for Bohemia however I usually drink Pacifico. When I drink Tecate it has a noticeable soapy/detergent after taste. I'm talking about
caguamas so there very well could be. If Bohemia was sold in Caguamas I would dring it exclusively  Anybody know where to get a neoprene beer jacket for caguamas?

Dave, I was once told that Tecate in bottles is from Tecate, BC... and Tecte in cans are from Monterrey... Tecate for the U.S. is in cans... that I
have tasted... and it is NOT the same beer as in Baja.
Of course the cans have U.S. labling (English) that are sold here... so is it not possible that a different alcohol level brew is made for export...?
Any poor non-Mormon soul can tell you that any brand beer sold in Utah is NOT the same beer sold in the rest of the U.S.

It could be that the only tecate sold in the U.S. comes from Monterrey, don't know. However a tecate exec that I trust tells me that the same beer is
sold north/south of the border. I don't dwell on it cause I don't drink it much....unless someone else is buying.

I should bring some U.S. Tecate down to your deli when that exec is there... and let's do a taste test.. blind that is... Tecate U.S. can, Tecate Mex.

Well... as I said, the Tecate here is not very good. Pacifico is a favorite of mine, as is Dos Equis Special... and Carta Blanca... and Bohemia... and
Mexican sold Tecate in bottles, oh that Tijuana Morena (Dark) on tap at the brewery is awesome too!
My vote was 'Like more than 1...' but if I had to pick one, Pacifico would win... as it seems to be doing here.

Try Tecate on draught (sp ? ). It is better than sweet spring water. Tecate tap beer is found in your better fueling stations. >>>Best

Tecate has a sweet, somewhat odd taste to me. Especially, the packaged up 6-pack bottles sold on the mainland (maybe that's the same as they sell in
the US?).
