Fishing

Last night we had dinner at some friends along the beach. They fished yesterday and caught 6 marlin and 7 tuna. We had dogtooth snapper for dinner while watching the rays jump right off the beach. We also watched a dorado chase some fish right up onto the beach in front of the house.

I would have to say the the Sea of Cortez isn't quite as dead as some seem to believe!

There is also a tournament going on that started today. I will see what they bring in and then make a decision as to whether there is good or bad fishing right now. It's been pretty slow for a couple weeks.

And, I am by no means a fisherman, just a curious individual interested in what's going on out there.

Hey JR-

Thanks for the post. That's my kind of post. Now you've got me really thinking about Baja.

Good point there Yankee

But, as I said, I'm not a fisherman, much. But, since posting this morning I heard that a lot of people started catching fish yesterday. I will find out about the tournament later but my friends that caught them said they took two rolls of film!!
And the husband was so tired that he fell asleep at dinner. The other two, one being the wife stayed awake during dinner and had enough margaritas to continue into the night. This after her reeling in two of the marlin! What a trooper!!!
I would consider this a true "Baja Babe".

The fish were caught

out of Rancho Leonero. But after talking to the anglers last night, not everyone did so well but most boats caught fish.
