For sure El Rosario. What confuses me is the date. I would guess the '60's but They didn't have electrical power even in San Quintin until the mid
'70's. I bought gas several times from that old red gasoline hand-pump. It now stands in the corner of the courtyard of the Baja Cactus hotel next
to the "new" gas station.
Thanks for sharing. After everyone's had their best guess, maybe you'll fill us in on the history of your photo.

Yes, El Rosario it is.
I'll verify the date and add the source of the photograph a bit later today.
You see, I knew David K was away for a few hours today and wanted you others to have a shot at this!

Photograph site
Caption of this and several accompanying images is as follows:
El Rosario. 1956-1963. ?A small agricultural village and mission site attractively located between tall cliffs in the broad Arroyo del Rosario, a
permanent stream, three miles from the Pacific ? In pre-Spanish times Rosario was the site of an Indian rancheria called Vi?adaco. The place was
chosen for the first mission founded by the Dominicans in 1774.?
Enjoy this and dozens of other Baja photographs of Howard Gulick that are to be found at the following site:

John this is excellent! You have Antonio's family gas pump (Standard Oil) location (today's Pemex and Baja Cactus motel)... You can see Mama
Espinoza's gas pump, down the street (Union Oil)! In the pre-Pemex days of Baja.
Thanks for the link... I have been checking that site for the photos to post... they have Harry Crosby's and Marquis MacDonald's... but hadn't put up
Howard's last time I checked... They are fantastic!

Harry Crosby's photos are at: http://orpheus.ucsd.edu/speccoll/baja/crosby/index.html
Harry is one of the Greats of Baja in my opinion, he researched the history of Baja in general, and specifically obtained guides a few decades ago and
rode the El Camino Real on mules. The ECR, in many places, is in terrible shape and it is an arduous task to ride and re-map it. Gulick and others had
mapped it but I believe Harry is the first one in modern times to have ridden the whole thing although Baja Bucko is working on it with 80% completed.
The result of Harry's effort is several articles in The Journal of San Diego History, and the great book 'The Kings Highway in Baja California'. Harry
is still kicking around and can sometimes be found at Keri's Booksigning or Discover Baja's Lectures. A genuinely nice guy.

Where's that San Pedro Martir mission site that Howard Gulick mentions?
And put those elevations back where you found them, will you, David? Can't you make up some of your own?
