I thought it meant being a troll, as in a garden troll, but to not have anything to do with gardens. Could trolling mean the same as trolling for
fish? It's a person who trolls for trouble?

Some times this pepole troll all day long and never get a bite. Guess it depends on the bait and what fishes are in the waters

My understanding is that trolling is just like fishing except you don't need a license, just a smartass.
