Booming Baja
I read in the gazoot today that there are plans for a huge development at Salsipuedes. We met with Sr. Corona yesterday and the plans for Playa
Requeson are supposed to be starting within the year.
The Baja that some of us were fortunate enough to have known, is about to become what everyone was trying to get away from. Too bad!

who is Sr. Corona? What are the Plans? and why don't the people that own Playa Requeson know anything about this?
But I guess that would depend on which owner there seem to be a few
must be Baja

Well Bruce
You may as well keep yer head buried under those palm trees and Rio Mulege. Good thing for those sancudos there , no?
Unfortunately, I know some of the people involved. They have a proven track record here in Baja. And, it's not just them wanting to develop!
Orange County south, coming right up!

Did anyone else notice that, on their picture page, they only show one photo of Playa Requeson?
All the others are of San Buenaventura. A little misleading don't you think? Someone that hasn't been there would be led to believe that they have
actually built something at Requeson already!

Requeson with houses and a hotel? This is an ugly piece of business in a beautiful spot. Stayed there many times, once for about ten days with nine
days of rain and that trip is still one my best Baja memories. Hope they choke.
The Salsipuedes venture will be interesting when the first big Pacific storm hits it. It didn't get named Salsipuedes by accident...

That is really bad news. As for the "owners", I'm not sure if it's actually that way. When Don Pablo, next door at La Perla, was alive, the land was
actually owned by the government and what he had amounted to a concession. I spoke to his widow there last year, so I imagine the family still has
it. Of course, that little detail hasn't stopped development before.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.

I also thought the related article on beach access in La Paz was interesting. I wonder if that would apply outside La Paz, like at Requeson?

Cyclones in the Baja? I"m thinkin they are called HURRICANES! Wow even a potential of 593 MILLION dollars profit...for whom? And below you will find
that the writers of the article are oceanographers to boot...haven't there been great whites caught in the Sea of Cortez near there?
A VERY IMPORTANT ADVANTAGE OF OUR PLACE, IS THAT SHARKS ARE VERY FEW AND THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY ATTACK IN BAHIA CONCEPCION, SINCE ANYBODY CAN
REMEMBER, EVEN THE OLDEST GUYS AND EVEN WITH HUNDREDS OF SCUBA DIVERS AROUND; THE SPECIES ARE TO SMALL TO BE DANGEROUS TO MAN AND THEY HAVE PLENTY TO
EAT, SO WHY BOTHER WITH THOSE DANGEROUS AND UGLY HUMANS.
Don\'t get mad...

Nomads, as I've mentioned in other past threads, the development of Mulege/Bahia Concepcion is a done deal (at least the land part).
I was privy in May to a meeting in Los Cabos of realtors, mainly from Los Cabos, and government officials who were putting everything in place for
Santispac, El Requeson, Coyote, the west side of the peninsula, an area near Santa Ines, and a couple other spots all for their development.
Some are large housing complexes including condos and others are smaller developments such as small hotels, eco tourist villages, etc. It's too bad,
but inevitable......
