Let's keep an eye on this one...Hurricane Hilary

Here's a good satellite image:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/epac-ir4-loop.html

Its blazing hot in Loreto and it has been for several days. I love the heat but this has been too much over the past three days. Even without looking at the satellite I knew something was brewing and now there's Hurricane Hilary!

Athough she's forecast to move West of the peninsula, hurricanes can make erratic and unpredictable moves. We saw this with Marty and Ignacio two years ago and those weren't half the size of this one. There's plenty of warm water to keep her energy up too. So batten down those hatches and buy emergency supplies if you live in the Baja! There's plenty of time to take precautions in case she does head our way.

San Juanico area report

Pam, the water over here has warmed up to the 75-77 degree area in the past few days about 5-7 miles offshore. Closer to the beach area, it's been around 70-71, but I can feel the warm currents moving in when I do my swim twice a day. Weather here has been in the eighties with some wind, but very comfortable overall. Today alreay feels like it's going to be one of the warmer days we have had in a few weeks.
Looking at Hillary here as well...you never know what she's gonna do.

When you live here you like to have all the information you can get your mouse on!

However when it is all said and done, the following is the bible in weather forecasting.

Lou was not around when I took that shot.
That's a shame, he looks like someone I would like to meet.
I am really into one dimensional personalities.
Keep us posted Cowboy!

Dont worry I think (all) the storms typically hold off and than reappear on the Oregon Coast later, they are then just called a "storm"..

No wonder it is so hot, Pam. With a name like Hillary, you can bet it packs a lot of hot wind. Could get real ugly and should hit from the left.
