Why you wouldn't want to live in Baja?
For myself I find that having something always to look forward too and planing is half the fun of going. Driving from the desert to a vista over
looking the ocean is just awsome! And as much as I talk about living there I would be afraid that without having the money to leave for the hot
months, it might begin to loose it's charm and that would be sad. If I could arrange 6mos there and 6 mos state side, then I sure would give it some
serious thought.
We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

Other than employment I can't think of one reason. Ideally I would like a few places around the globe that I could bounce around to that I would be
living at.

I agree, I love the summers even with the hurricanes. They just keep you on your toes. We get stranded when there is too much rain whether there is
a hurricane or not. Adds to the excitement of living here.
And there is NO ONE here.

You hear me start saying that starting in about April as it starts to get nice and quiet and empty around here.
Of course, not ALL are rif-raf--------
It's kind of nice to see only security vehicles in the neighborhood for 3-4 days. Not the usual comings and goings.
But hurry back Val-- And Wornout --and several others---

Your neighbors are not Rif-Raf, they are geezers. All the Rif-Raf live at Pete's camp and in the Ejido.

As Newbies To Living in Baja...
We're thinking about two 3-month cycles each year. While the exact dates would change we're thinking typically fall and spring in Bahia de Los
Angeles and the remainder in California. But I know that won't work exactly as planned because I'll miss Bahia too much and won't be able to stay
away that long. Also, most of you-all are further south in the Mulege - Loreto area and the weather there differs from that of Bahia de Los Angeles.
Our biggest problem is solved now that we've found a place in Baja. The second largest is now looming: finding a place in California that we can buy
on a small budget. The average home prices in even relatively rural So Cal are in the $500,000 range and well outside my budget.
And the real reason I'd avoid Baja like the plague is the laughter. The folks in Bahia are still laughing at me because I had a thatched roof added
to a balcony that abutts my chimney. Chimney??? I've never heard of one in Baja. But there it is. Maybe once the laughing has slowed I'll have the
nerve to head south again...

I spend about six months a year in Loreto. I am not afraid to tell you that July, August and September are too damn hot for me. I have had open
heart surgery and have an artificial valve in the heart. Also, and more important, I have two grandchildren here that I like to see. One was born
last tuesday and the other is 2 years old. My four children live here in California and my wife so I must spend some time here. If I were all alone,
I would live in Loreto full time. Probably come up to Calif. in July, August and September. Some like it hot---and some don't. I am fat and fat
people don't like the heat. So thats my story and I'm stickin to it.
If there is no fishing in heaven, I am not going
