Mexicali's Fiestas del Sol

I posted a while back that I'd let folks here know the dates of Mexicali's Fiestas del Sol.

The Fiestas del Sol is kind of like a county fair from maybe Iowa or something. Security's pretty good once you're inside - but I think I'd probably park at a lot someplace else and take a taxi in.

The dates are Sept. 23 to Oct. 16.

If anyone has specific questions please post away here.

I'm afraid I couldn't find any english language websites - but I'm sure there'll be something as we get closer to fairtime.

Meanwhile here are a couple of other attractions in Mexicali:

Basketball:

Baseball:

Here's the main fair website - not updated yet:

La Cronica has an article about the fiestas del sol.
Here's the link:

http://www.lacronica.com/buscar/traernotanew.asp?NumNota=389...

I'm not the best spanish reader but it seem like there will be about 5,700 parking spaces. Some will be away from the site and offer free shuttle.
Admission 40 pesos Fri ~ Sun. 30 pesos Tues.~ Thurs
Sounds like a bargin!!
Date for the fiesta was listed as 9/23 ~ 10/23.
Maybe better to go later for cooler weather.
