Who can post the most?????????????

Reading the post of one liners about posting numbers, and I look 12 inches to the left at a Hallmark postum and at the bottom it says, "Whoever has the most memos when he dies, wins!" And I suppose the race to the end just to have "#'s" of posts means the same. It slowly is weighing on my wanting to read & occationally participate on subjects of Baja. But alas, there are those who just want to post to accumulate the "numbers". This is a great chat room, and have enjoyed 99.999% of it. But I find myself 'wading through' a lot of nothings, to get to the "good stuff"!!! But is there anyway that comments just for the "count" can be managed?????? I'd enjoy others comments regarding this subject. IS it just me??

Phil, I just love Baja a lot and enjoy sharing my experiences and exchanging 'small talk' with all you Nomads... I am not trying to be the highest poster and I do delete my posts if I come across them and they are no longer relevent, which lowers the number.

Will be going to El Rosario later today to party Mexican style!

Small things

I don't worry about "little" thing.
I do not believe there is an answer and nor should there be.

Phil,

What you can do is go to search and review post by who you know will post of what is interest to you and only open their posts.

Also, certainly there have been "those posters" who's name when I see it, I don't even bother to open the thread. I know it is just going to be Dibble or irriating.

As to the one liners tossing out sillness, sometimes I really enjoy their banter.

I think Fred's board is much strickter, and information only oriantated, you might try there if all the junk gets to you.

At the same time, if you are only irritated with .001%, you are doing much better than me, I would give the irritable posting a higher rating, although latly the % of what bugs me has dropped hugely. Still, I love freedom of speech and am more than willing to do a little wading in order to protect my right to say what I want when I want to.

I don't bother to read 80% of what is posted on Nomads. (Edited this, as I felt it might be misconstruted as unkind thought).

Making lots of posts when you have something to say that is informative, interesting or funny is a good thing. But to post inane comments just to get the numbers up is called "Post Whoring"- and its something we can sure do without.

Well, I'm not sure if I should be serious or make an attempt at humor. I certainly don't care how many posts I have and therefore don't post for that reason. I was taught in school, yes, I went to school, that a good writer is one that says what he or she has to say in the fewest amount of words.

I don't claim to be a good writer, although like many wanabe authors on this board I wish I were.

I find that many posters take themselves too seriously, and so I try to bring a little humor at times. Brevity is the soul of wit, or so I'm told.

I enjoy reading David K and Sharks and others for a lot of different reasons. They all bring their personality and talent to the board. Unlike Eli, I probably read 80% of the posts, including Eli's.

I try never to criticize the people who participate for their participation. Not everyone is a great speller or has the writing ability of Osprey, but at least they try..............

I don't really understand where this thread is coming from but I am actually embarassed by the number of posts I have.
We do get silly sometimes but we are all friends trying to share our experiences in Baja and have some fun. I don't see any harm in that.
We can't really take any of this too seriously, can we?

By the way, has anyone noticed that my island has the hiccups...

Some of the most powerful emotion is expressed in so few words:
Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country!
Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead!
Frankly Charlotte, I don't gave a damn!
What a ride! Bravo Osprey
