I would much rather have Baja Nomads who love the land be regular visitors there and showing the value of preserving the site, then the locals (?) who
keep defacing these historic places with their grafitti thinking nobody cares or it is not important enough to leave alone.

This is great stuff David. No longer will most of us think of just blowing through the El Rosario area. We've been passing through, usually without
stopping (except for gas) for years.

Yup, it is fun to explore and find cool stuff or to see for yourself what you have read about in books or on the Internet... Here is the view north
from a high point on the Punta San Carlos graded road, on our way back to Baja Cactus Motel... Oh, by the way... I have some more photos from Sunday
when we drove to the beach near El Socorro, on our way home... stay tuned!

Question: on the way to Las Pintas, when you make the left turn out of arroyo san fernando on the final stretch to the site. Was there a big washout
there in the mesquite patch, and how was the transit across that area..Whaen I was there in feb 04 we had to stop there and walk the 1.8 miles in.
Would have tried it but was very loaded ( so was my truck:lol and with wife and
three year old decided not to.. just curious..
Also, did you see any heavy machinery out there?? in 04 ther was what looked like an oversized log splitter(I'm sure it was something else) maybe a
quarter mile from the site on the left going in.. I feared they were going to try and excavate some of the fossil stone in slabs .
Great report!! Truly one very cool hidden Baja treasure.. Could you imagine eating those oysters? Some of the fossil shells are bigger than my size

Hi TT,
I was able to drive all the way in, and the part where you turn left, out of Arroyo San Fernando was looking like it was washed out from all that
rain... we were on a newer track winding through the mesquite (read Baja pin stripes) for a 100 ft. then in the original gully road.
No machinery or signs of humans, other than the road, fire pit, and grafitti (sad).

TT... I am trying a light duty polishing rub first (new paint afterall)... but will go to the stronger stuff on the deeper scrstches... But, what
'real Baja rig' doesn't have pin stripes, afterall?
