The Sea, requested info, rumors, etc.

Skeet, As a six month resident of La Paz on my small sailboat, there is the constant info given out to boaters on radio nets and in person (actual experiences) that to cruise, anchor or be in the "Marine Park" in Loreto is costly as there is an anchoring fee, a park fee (requiring a trip to town from Escondido), a per person fee to just boating or fishing the Park's waters. Many, many boaters therefore stay away from Loreto. You have written how "dead" the economy is there and people are suffering as a result. Cruisers down from San Carlos used to stop at Carmen/Loreto for a while, but avoid it now. What's happening? Thanks, Jack Swords
