January Weather in Loreto

For Baja Mavens:

The WX in Loreto in the winter is mostly super!..about 75F in the daytime and the 60's at night. But they sometimes get cold weather--40s--and in the winter in Baja there will always be a problem with wind. I fly an airplane down there and it's not unusual to have 50 knot winds at altitude (9000 feet) out of the North West (325) straight down the east coast of Baja. These winds usually are on the order of 20-30 knots on the gound.

Sea temperatures are gonna be in the mid to high 60s and low 70s.

When the wind comes up it is very dangerous to be out in a small boat and it generally is kinda miserable until the wind lays down.

It's normal for the wind to blow hard for about three days and then quit for three or four days and then crank up again.
