Baja 1K Trip Report

Left Prescott Az. 8:00AM Sun 11-13-05.
Arrived El Dorado at Baja Lou's about 3:00 PM.
Had a nice chat with Lou and Wornout.
It was nice finally putting faces with forum names.
Spent the nite at Campo San Felipe.

Monday- Spent the day meeting with several race teams checking
on where they might needed pit help.

Tuesday- Went to San Matias to see some old friends and tell some stories,
then on to Ensenada to check in with some other old race buddies.

Called "Hose A", had breakfast or lunch with him and met his wife at the restaurant she works.
Another face connected with a forum name.

Wednesday- Headed back towards SF.
Stopping along the way and talking with several motorcycle guys that were pre running. Returned to Lou's and spent some more time telling more
stories and picked some e-mails from home. Ain't this Internet neat!!
Met up with crew from Baja.Net and was able to again put faces with
forum names.

Thursday- Kind of a kick back day. Read a book and took a long nap.
In the afternoon returned to Lou's to meet with TW (Tom) and get some pit and race info about Tunaeater(Paul) While we were there I met MeMe and her daughter. Again putting faces with forum names. TW hadn't showed up by 6:00 PM so we went to town (SF) to have a pre race dinner.

Friday(raceday)- Went out to RM 260 to help with some racers from
Baja.Net and from ADVRider.com. Upon arrival promptly got my van
stuck in the sand. Chango(web name) and his crew helped me get out
with a good push of people power. Thanks guys!!! Stayed at this location
until dark. We then went south to McGyvers castle. When we got their Polly fed us a big bowl of chile. Spent the night a Max's had breakfast and headed north Saturday morning.

This was a very relaxed trip as I didn't have to be anywhere or any place
at any time. Just Baja time table. Everyone should do this type of trip once
in awhile.

Thanks for reading,

Corky

Nice report

Corky,
I'm glad to hear you are back in the saddle. Great trip report. I've got to get down there for a race sometime and check out all of the mayhem. Glad to hear that Lou is doing good:tumble: Super great people out there in S.F.
When you come up through NorCal again, I can give you some driving lessons so you won't get stuck every time you take your truck, van, whatever off the road. At least the van wasn't submerged past the doors like the last time you got stuck:lol:
I'll stop pickin on you. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS! See you soon.

1K trip Pic's

Corky, Those are good pictures, so clear and detailed, I did not notice your camera, what kind is it?
I guess I will have to go to Coco's and borrow some new underwear for Miss Mermaid, hers is faded. She wears a size 3.
Stopped at my Taco Stand on the way back from Yuma and receipts are down for that week, my man said a couple of gezzers used up 2 days condiments! They were driving a white Ford Van. You and Jim would not know anything about that would you??

Max,
I was wondering how long it would take to get a reply from you about your TACO stand!!

Yes, your lady friend needs a new wardrobe!!!

My camera is a Olympus D-370 1.3 megapixel.
Inexpensive and EZ for dummy to use.

Would you be interested in being the camp cook and camp watcher again??
Want to try Nachos trip again next year. Maybe March??
I will keep you posted on dates .

Corky:lol::?:

Baja 1K trip report

Yep, Just got back from stateside and checked in. I have a new HP 5.2MP camera with 10X zoom and the only way I can get a decent picture is with a tripod, I have an OLD Kodak 1MP that takes excellent pictures under any condition, in this case money does not talk!
I will print the the pictures of Mcgyvers Taco stand and take them up to San Felipe tomorrow, he will get a kick out of them because I am always telling him he owes me a commision for using the name, I also have a store in Guadlupe Victoria.
Yep I am open for trips this year, I have been talking to a horse rancher who lives near Okieville and he tells me he takes horses up a trail that a MC might use between Canon Miramar and Canon Zamora. Some of the MC riders maybe familiar with this area.
Before the big rains in 2004 you could drive a 4WD up Canon Agua Los Palmas for about 4 miles, now washouts limit me to a mile or so, high clearence rigs or MC,s could go father, maybe into Miramar.

Corky, sorry I missed you at the B1K. Love your pictures. The mermaid reminds me of an old girl friend long ago.
