NY to Cape Cod

The following year in Motauk saw acre upon acre of baby mossbunker. The bass fishing continued at a hectic pace. There were timesw when I would get two bass on the same plug.......All good things must come to an end. At the height of all this, I was called into military service, after doing a year in Viet Nam I came home to a different Montauk then I had known. My old haunts on the south side were no longer accessable, Caswells, Coconuts and most of the spots I had enjoyed so well were to become just a memory to me.
It was time to look for greener pastures..........

In May of that year, my brother Bill and I headed north for the Cape Cod Canal. At the time we didn't even know how to get to the Cape; never the less, we were on our way, map in hand..We figured the bass in Cape Cod couldn't be much different then those at Montauk. With that in mind , and the never ending optimism of true surf-casters, nothing could stop us!

to be continued..............
