Just go

I think a lot of people look at one of those recommended lists and become reluctant to leave for the outback because the're missing some 'essential' items. The point the no-list people make is one I share: Screw the list - just go. Things have a way of working out. Inevitably it's the people who are over prepared who do the least exploration. Travel light, but travel right.

Luxury and Comfort

are found in a small baggie of wet wipes.:lol::saint:

But, don't get me wrong, all this stuff fits under my double bed in the van. And sometimes we set up the tent. The tables, fishing poles, copy machine and spears are missing.

Just depends on how long were going to be somewhere as to whether we take the van or truck. It's all good and I have the same amount of fun whether roughing it or in a hotel in Baja!!!!

I look at my packing this way. When I'm done packing the 4Runner I should be able to look in the rear-view mirror and see out of the back window. If I can't, I have too much stuff.

Old Grandville King would be turning over in his grave, were he 'exposed' to the 'list'...

Granny would fill an old half gallon milk jug with water, toss in a crescent wrench, a screwdriver, maybe a lug wrench and jack for the spare, and a piece of rope. He'd find a spot for 'Superdog' to hang out the window, and off they'd go for a Baja back county adventure...at least that's how he wrote about it, many years ago!

I'll admit I take a few more tools, and maybe a few cans of pork-n-beans...it's a big world out there, and it's not a 'real 'adventure if you go, dragging ALL your stuff from home with you.

The lure of the 'unknown' in Baja is what it's all about - if you want to be 'safe' go take a Cruise Liner with 3,000 or so of your new best friends.

According to my clock...anytime is \'BAJA TIME\' & as Jimmy Buffett says,
\"It doesn\'t use numbers or moving hands It always just says now...\"
