ocean water temperature?

Anyone know what the ocean water temperature tends to be around Ensendada during Nov/Dec/Jan? I can't find any websites that handle ocean temps in Mexico. I'm wondering if I need a wetsuit to surf, or even to just jump in the waves. If anyone has any info, I'd love to learn about it. Thanks!

Re

You will need a full suite, perhaps even booties, the water gets pretty cold, specially around Ensenada.

Minimum of 2mm

I can't even stand to go swimming in Manhattan Beach in the summer time. Too bad there aren't any good waves on the Sea of Cortez side! I guess finding good swells and layin' in the tubby are two totally different occupations.

By the way, did anyone see that Imax film they had on the Hawaiians that surfed the biggest swells ever recorded (back in 98, I believe)? It was on P.B.S. a few weeks ago. It was some of the wildest action video I've ever seen and I was watching it on a 25 inch t.v. Definitely gave me an appreciation for the skill involved in surfing that I've never had. I hope to some day see it on a big screen. What a thrill. - Stephanie

Images at the bottom of this page might be slightly informative (but no overly so):
