checkpoints, flashlights, batteries...

Came through 4 checkpoints on the way home...catavina, El Rosario, Ensenada, and all traffic on the toll road stopped at second booth...

but outside of El Rosario...he opens my passenger door and sees box I have w/ maps/ snacks/receipts/glasses ( my junk stuff for driving) (and even a few extra batteries )...looks at the batteries and says could he have two as he needs them....( don't get all caught up in this- even AMERICAN soldiers are "asking " for stuff to be sent to them).....so OK no big deal as I won't need them for this trip... give him 2 and away he goes....as I am waiting for car in front to move soldier goes to side and pulls out nice MAG-LITE...and starts stuffing batteries into it....

NOMADS supplied the flashlight and now we must provide for batteries also........gotta love BAJA....

A few years ago, at the San Ignacio checkpoint, after I declined to give my flashlignt to a soldier, he offered to sell me batteries.

What great way to get rid of dead batteries.....:light:
I usually have a couple of cheap plastic flashlights/batteries{think 99 cent store} just as decoys.

What's the point of doing that Frank? These kids are just trying to supplement their pitiful income and do know the meaning of "no", no reason to short-shrift them.
