Name the ruins shown in this picture and the location. Clue: a Franciscan mission.

Buenos Aires

There are no missions close to Buenos Aires, and the place to go would be Posadas. However, in Buenos Aires you can visit the Manzana de las Luces, which was the Jesuit convent, which is largely intact although many sections have been modernized. There is also a tunel under the complex. There are also other interesting colonial structures including a Franciscan and Dominican church. If you are going into Uruguay, you could visit Calera de las Huerfanas, which was a Jesuit ranch complex with a chapel. How long will you be in Buenos Aires?

The ruins in the photo of are San Bernardo mission located in Coahuila, close to the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo River a bit south of Piedras Negras. The nearby town Guerrero contains ruins of the Spanish presidio of San Juan Bautista.
