Cardon Man, I'll let you know what kind of strings were originally on the guitar and the recommended replacement strings this Sat.as it was a gift for my son- in law and he won't be back here (Cabo) until Friday.When are you coming down, just in case you need to know sooner? (I could email or try to IM him) Suerte, Sally

I went with an amigo to Paracho back in '85. He was looking for a mandolin. He looked in a dozen shops but never found anything of any quality. He ended up getting an armadillo-shell mandolin that didn't sound great but does look nice on the wall.
That is a beautiful area of Mexico. A town in Michoacan was in the middle of strawberry picking season. Our bus was in a traffic jam of strawberry trucks! Very aromatic!
