I've already named my boat, before buying...

It will be christened "Chunga's Revenge".

Can anyone explain the source?

Why not the Spanish version" La Venganza de Chunga"?

Zappa rules!

Mom always told me to be different - Now she says...Not THAT different

Right on Jeans!! I am very surprized! Not many chicks

Know Zappa stuff or are fans. You are so right, Zappa does rule. I figured this would not get answered correctly for a long time, especially when the source was such an obscure LP title. Sure, many know of the more (latter) popular works of the maestro,... but for you to key on Chunga's is amazing. Way to go. (and please don't take any of this as sexist!, Not that you would of course, i know you as having a keen sense of humour.) BTW - if you'd like a copy of that work or any other from the catalog, i'll send you a CD or MP3, your choice - I own them all, my wife thinks i am sick - she's right! It's so much better to let them BE right too, doncha think?!

I hate to be superstious(SP) but...

There is a system if you rename an old boat to another name....just for luck..otherwise you get bad luck..

I don't know what it is though
Maybe someone else???:yes::yes:

...for bringing it to my attention so many years ago. Had to dig deep in the brain archives for that one

ok Whistler, i'll name it out of the water with a

NICE BOTTLE OF RIPPLE'S Catawbra Pink (my old man used to give me hits off his bottle in the frozen duck blinds of Kansas when i was about 12 or 13, 6:00 in the A.M.!) broken on its side! Or would a bottle of Cold Duck be more apropo?
And what kind of boat you ask?? wish i knew, just that it will be small and cheap - a panga for sure.... still looking for the one of my dreams all the time.

Mateo - e mail me with the titles you want. ditto JR.

Jeans, one CD of "Chunga's Revenge" coming your way. E me your mailing address and I'll burn it tonight. I still need to get up to Ramona for a washing machine tub fire pit, i'll do it this fall sometime, after all this tragedy is over.

Renaming a boat is serious business and if not handled well could be catastrophic. I'm not totally sure of it all but it has to do with the sea gods, Neptune a few chants and a whole lotta booze. Be careful, this should not be taken lightly.

Mike

We found the rules for renaming...

http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/rename.htm

It says to use the good champagne not the rot gut stuff.

We are absolutly sure if you invite Zappa he might even attend:lol::lol:
