Vehicles in Baja

I keep my 83 GMC 2wd van because vehicles get messed up in Baja. If you go anywhere adventurous at all, things are going to happen to a vehicle. If you are lucky, it is just body damage and dents.
It is to be expected.

My "new" car is an '84 Buick

(for hot dates and sech!) Seriously I think it is wise to run older vehicles down here, the maintenance is less expensive and the "conspicuous consumption " factor is almost nil. My favorite, that I bought in 95 and towed home in Fresno to get roadworthy, is my 78 Jimmy. Probably 8 trips to the states without any major problems. Although it is an SUV, it's so damned old you wouldn't notice, anyway who needs a $30k (+) vehicle down here, or even up there?

I'm back

but I can't open my U2U's again. Maybe later. I am leaving for south again soon and will stop in G.Negro during business hours.
