Hike Gonzaga to Santa Maria
We attempted this hike last February but were unable to reach Santa Maria. Since there was so much rain last year we were not able to start until
about 1:00pm. We made only about half way the trail was difficult with many undermined rocks. We will attempt the hike again this Saturday Has anyone
hiked this trail in the last few months that can report on the conditions..
Thanks

There is some valuable info, not recent however, in the Off Road section below that could be helpful to you. GPS way points etc.

You need to see/ print this: http://www.southcoastfarms.com/gonzaga_to_mission_santa_mari...
A ton was just posted on the Camino Real to Santa Maria just last week here on Nomad... bajalou made a great satellite map showing the trail waypoints
that Don Jorge and I obtained... GPS is set to NAD27 Mexico!
The trail is very hard to follow in many spots, we made several cairns/ducks/ rock piles to help you stay on it... where it wasn't obvious...
Allow SIX hours to reach the mission from the trailhead in Arroyo Santa Maria at the mouth of the canyon.
See other posts here on Nomad... Have fun!
