Favorite place to camp?.....
#1 In all of Baja, where is your favorite place to camp/hang out? Let's say spending about 3-weeks. Nice, huh? This could be tent camping, RV
camping, whatever.
#2 What is the best time of year? Most folks say October, but I want to get a better feel for this.

I cant post that or the next time I go it will be trashed out and have a hundred people there.
but if you just get off the rode a few miles in any direction you will find your own favorite spot.

Bruce is right...
some of us hate to tell about our favorite spots in fear that they may not be the same as when we left them....but the truth is that as much as people
predict doomsday for baja here because of too many tourists,there are still alot of places where you can get lost in baja and find your own secret
spot simply because most tourists prefer to go where there are amenities and there are alot of places left in baja where there is nothing....so
tonight i'll raise my glass to nothingand places where there is lots of it

Well, Bob...you are in luck...there are LOTS of good places to camp in Baja.
Here are some...and they are easy to find.
Coming from north...find this one going south past Santo Tomas and take the turnoff to the Pacific...dang, forgot the name of the town, but someone
will jump in help me out on that, I'm sure. Surfers like this area.
Free camping at this spot last time we were there. No services, naturally. We totally boondock.

3 weeks? My goodness... I wish!
I would spend one week in 3 places instead of 3 in one place... But, that isn't your question... So, I would say L.A. Bay as it is closest to the most
interesting places... with supplies, friends, scenery...

Another furthe south close to Catavina...
beautiful desert camping amongs the boulders....very nice and ...quiet. Get a ways away from the highway and relax.
This spot was maybe 4-5 miles north of Catavina on the west side of highway..off on a trail for a few hundred yards or so.

But for 3-4 weeks....Coyote would probably be the best
You will want to get supplies, tour around, buy gas, etc. This place will fill all those needs and give you one of the best camps
around..scenery-wise. There are many more in the Bay of Conception to pick from...stay here a while and explore on your own. You must find YOUR
Baja YOUR way. Buena Suerte...BAd Rice...Good Luck

go past coyote to requeson but not quite, it's the Beach with the sand spit that goes out to an island. there is a back way in apart from the main
beach. it used to be hard to negotiate but folks have cleared it out quite a bit. it gets grabbed quite quickly when someone leaves it but we like
it.
Ha on the catavinia spot looks like the one that is about 1/2 mile before the large parking area and the virgin Guadalupe monument. Word of caution
about that area, many have been robbed, both in person or when they left their vehicle to go hiking among the boulders. We no longer feel comfortable
staying in that area.
There are other but as has been mentioned we would not want to publicize them

More campsites....to share.
bajabus...I guess we have been lucky over the years. A bunch of us have been camping in that spot near Catavina since the road opened and never had a
problem with bad types. Maybe being oldtimers gives us an edge. We were just there around mid-February.
The camping beach with the sandspit going to the island is indeed Requeson. The beach just before that is Armenta...and the one after is Perla. All
are great camp spots and afford great beaches. Here is Armenta.

Bob H....here is where you 'could' have camped ...a long time ago.
Playa Santispac many decades ago...no problem with crowding.

nice pic of gonzaga...i like to hang out there and theres a bunch of great camping spots in the area but there sure as hell aint no paved road in
which is the only reason I can see why theres not alot more folks in the area...gonna be down there in less than a month to do some fishing at punta
final i sure hope the triggers are ready
