A peculiar Where in Baja Challenge
In Baja's mad rush to adopt all things American I think they have gone too far when the start selling trinkets celebratiing Roosevelt and Sagamore
Hill. Actually, for years I've just had to laugh everytime I went into a certain store in Baja and saw them trying to sell these things. They are in
a prime spot at eye level in this store. I know many of you Nomads have been there, did you notice these things?
If you want one trust me, there is no need to rush on down to get one. They have been there for years and they have a lot of'um.What store are
they in?

Don't know where but I'll bet that they're asking more for 'em this year than last.

Maybe Red Iguana should get some and advertise them as "Authentic Mexican Trinkets".
And if the Red Iguana(great reastaurant) wanted some they wouldn't be able to get them at the CCC.

Do you mean this store?
No, not that store, and if they had them you'd be outta luck as that store is closing this month(March) cuz the guy is retiring and moving to
Temecula, California. I've been going there for decades and hate to see him leave. I just hope they don't put a Starbucks on that corner.
These little dinner bells can be found at the El Pescador in Loreto- a rather odd place for Roosevelt Sovenirs.

Thanks, Cardon, that was really a puzzler.
But Meza's is closing? Dang! That store was SO important in Good-Old-Bad-Road days--you could stock up on tequila and other necessities you'd run out
of, and Jim Smith often hung out there when he was in town. One time we got supplies there before heading south on the Pac Coast road, and one of
Meza's truck drivers stopped off at our camp in the middle of the night to warn us that there would be high tides. Considerate people!
The place really deserved to be preserved as an official peninsular monument.

That store was a winner. Had a lot of treasures - but I did not notice the dinner bells.
One time I needed a Doctor (can't remember what for) and they sent me around the corner for what passed for one, and he fixed me up and the charge was
unbelievable low.

Cardon, yes that was the store I was thinking of. I have seen so many interesting things in that store over the years, I had just assumed I missed
them.
Are you sure they are closing? Who owns the building I wonder and what will be next?

Yes, I spoke with the owner himself and he said he was retiring and moving to Temecula. I kidded with him not to lose all his money in the Indian
Casinos there.
Over the years it was one of my favorite Baja store cuz as you said it had so many interesting things inside. I noticed that the inventory was
getting smaller and smaller the last few years and now the store is almost empty. I didn't ask about the building or what might take its place.
Perhaps someone can ask and let us know. I wish him well.

They'll probably build a Lays, or even bigger with LB bringing in all those people.
Can Walmart be far behind?
