It is beautiful

Sorta like what So. Cal looked like before the boom! Where's the golf course? Tiffanys'?
Remember the old saying" if you build it they will come"? Well, it's more like "if you post it they will come"

Sorry Shari some of us have strong feelings about developing coastlines. I get the impression that foreigners are trying to cash in as much as finding their spot in paradise.

Won't be the "great escape" for long I fear.

hola todos, the reason I posted some photos of Asuncion is to help the merchants here who would REALLY appreciate a little more business. The fishing industry here is just scraping by and locals just don't have much extra income... so local businesses are suffering and everyone here has hopes that more visitors will come. I feel everyone deserves to make a decent living, particularly the hardworking locals here and if a few more visitors will help, well...good. There are hundreds of miles of deserted beaches where you can still go to get away. Also I kept seeing the name of Asuncion on lists and when I clicked on them...nothing comes up...so I am proud to have taken the time and effort to help my fellow citizens spread the good word about our lovely part of the coast. David, I can't thank you enough for helping us get these posted and you shall be royally spoiled when you come. This is an exceptional area and you baja lovers deserve to know about it. Anyone is welcome to write me for more info.

Thank you Shari, it is my pleasure to help... Your emails and photos told me of your sincerity.

I love visiting new places in Baja and hope it won't be too long before I make it down your way...

A few years ago, a Baja Bush Pilot (Bob Jones) made a web page about Bahia Tortugas that I found very helpful to give a view of the life and sites of that town. That page is no longer on the net, unfortunately.

Your Asuncion web page will be a big help to those seeking details on this 'off the beaten path' region of Baja.

The links above was to the first web site to promote Bahia Asuncion and contained photos and details sent to me from Shari Bondy. Since then (2006) the web site address is http://www.BahiaAsuncion.com or http://www.BajaBnB.com

This post is just a reminder of when Shari started to share her town (Bahia Asuncion) here on Nomad and the Internet... April, 2006. Since then, many Nomads have gone to Asuncion and many have bought property there.

When Shari and I began to discuss making a web site, it was then and always to help the town... Shari and Juan have never talked ill of others to me nor expressed any other motive than an overall improvement for the Bahia Asuncion community.

Everyone who reads Baja Nomad who has gone to Bahia Asuncion since her joining Nomad in 2006 has Shari and Juan to thank for being the town's welcome wagon and offering sincere generosity and hospitality.

DK - your BA link doesn't work.
And where is Shari's link to her old website ?
It had some great photos and listed her rentals and services.

That the newer Bahia Asuncion "Community" web page has removed all mention of Juan and Shari and their fishing and accomodation business is very childish and vindictive of that site's host 'jdtrotter' (aka 'Diana T'). Until it once again becomes a "community" web page, the link to it will not appear on my web site.

Everyone who reads Baja Nomad who has gone to Bahia Asuncion since her joining Nomad in 2006 has Shari and Juan to thank for being the town's welcome wagon and offering sincere generosity and hospitality.

DK, even you should know her motivation was to advertise her business (which she should). Talk about childish(and vindictive) ....why don't you just take your toys and go home.

actually Ralf at this time we hardly even had a business and it was NOT my motivation... how would YOU know what my motives were? I was in love with this village and wanted to shout it to the world and wanted to help all my friends and family by inviting people to come to experience the beauty of this area....share the wealth so to speak...the wealth of beauty and peace...

peace out amigos

I see, no I don't know what your motives were. I guess the rates for the B&B etc were just an accident. Now if I was in your place I would have advertised. But then again I guess your previous comment about needing a business and not being independently wealthy were accidents as well.

And Hey. There is nothing wrong with advertising. Every successful business does it.
