The reason for posting what i considered an innacurate e-mail that some idiot friend of mine sent me, knowing that I live in Mexico 1/2 the time was to point out the issue that no matter where one sits on the immigration issue, there are going to be gross inaccuracies and misrepresentations. My point was that there is a big difference of how Mexico deals with the immigrant problem and how we attempt to deal with the problem in the United States. Jesse's points are, in my opinion, fascinating because I suspect they are closer to what the baja cultural feelings are regarding the immigration issue. And yet, I suspect the exact same thing occurs north of the border as witnessed by the wide range of comments about that issue posted earlier. This issue is very complex and probably will not be settled by the wide range of perceptions and philosophy displayed on this board but I find that my own beliefs and paradigms are either strengthened or re-evaluated as I think through the information.
