Inciteful (sic) comedy programming on local TV

Just clicked off the television. Channel 10 in La Paz was showing a Galavision variety hour and one of the sketches was a parody of a commercial for a c-ckroach killer. It seems the housewife was upset because c-ckroaches were crossing her threshold and getting into her house. The threshold had a red, white and blue rug on it. The product was called USA Migracion. An aerosol can with a special pinpoint applicator. It also came with a pair of night-vision goggles so the c-ckroaches could be seen at night.

Maybe I?m being sensitive but it didn?t seem all that funny

{Is inciteful a word? Does (sic) mean I meant to spell it that way?}

I don't know. I would need to see it before I could form an opinion. but from your description it sounds like it could be kind of funny.

don't let Mexican political hummer get you down. it is vary toung and cheek. just like the stuff you see on Leno or Letterman.

Yor're right. Some of the show was downright hilarious. The previous sketch was for a line of diapers. Pase A, B, C, all the way past Z which was Pase Terminal for the grandfather, then one for terrorists, and one for slasher movie aficionados

Bruce, I don't see too many hummers down here, but Mexican jokes make me laugh... :lol:

I think I would laugh at the c-ckroach commercial too.

BajaJ-
After weighing the pros and cons of sky, dish, direct, and the others I decided my spanish would improve more and my attitude also if I avoided the temptation to cruise the english channels and stick to what I can pull in with rabbit ears.

I do wish however that my SAP worked. Channel 12 often advertises that you can elegir la idioma but it all comes out in Spanish. Just watched ConAir with Nicholas Cage. Wonder what a movie like Reservoir Dogs would be like if it were dubbed.:biggrin:

VD
We get by on the ocassional movie and the three local channels. I think that you are right....listening to Spanish helps your ear get accustomed to the sounds.
We went out to our local calientitos cart last night and as I sat there listening to the people chatter, I realized that they have a definite launguage of their own. The people of La Playa have a slang that only they understand. Kinda like the people of La Paz who dont pronounce the last "s" of some words. Por Exemplo....La Pa' is the way they pronounce their city. If you dont know this trick, all the nouns sound like they are singular, then followed by a plural verb and you are left scratching your head.
