May I suggest that you have total control of this board and if you are so conditioned to being upset about the off-topic board--where I believe most of the real thinking occurs on your board--that you just wave your wand (you are the boss) and do away with it instead of throwing roadbolock in the way of real ( but sometimes nasty) interchange of ideas. Count the hits and decide!

Bernie, with all due respect, are you serious?:lol::lol::lol:

The off-topic has turned into a free-for-all insult-as-you-can complete lack of any semblance of humanity, intelligence or "real thinking" domain of a few rampaging people who shall remain nameless (I would have to be uncivil myself to name them or go futher, but I think most "thinking" people get the point).

Other than that, you are 100% correct.:lol::lol:

Off Topic ??? Why, when there is SOOO MUCH ON TOPIC (Baja) we could discuss!

I stopped going there many many months ago... No matter how much logic or facts (or emotion) that are displayed, the opposition NEVER will change their opinions.

Why bother slinging insults? You are just alienating fellow Nomads that would be much better people to you if they were friends.

Think about it... and then post your favorite Baja stories here, instead!:yes::yes:

I don't think I've ever been "upset" over the off-topic forum. In fact, it seems to serve the purpose of my deciding to put it there quite well. So even though I find the content questionable at times, in effect, I'm happy about it from what it accomplishes.

It's a mechanism to achieve a goal - and so far it seems it's being met.

The only "roadblock" was putting in a published password today, as I wished to create another step to entry as a deterrent/reminder for/about our now increasing viewership by some younger Nomads.

That's it - plain and simple.

If I didn't want it there, it would've been gone long-ago.

Whoa
How did off topic get into "Todays Posts"? I truly do not want to HAVE to wade through that to get to the topics I enjoy.
Doug please take it out of todays posts again...pretty please

That forum is not on Today's Posts Judy... People are talking about it in other forums.

As of right now my screen shows 7 off topic threads under today's posts. All are offensive to me except perhaps Bernie's grandson story. Although I do get caught up from time to time in political discussions here, I prefer not to. Immigration issues do relate to living and traveling in Baja. Slams against liberals do not.
So I think off-topic is fine if it isn't catching my eye. I hope it moves back to where it belongs soon.

It's a Cookie

If you used the "over 18" password, the board software put a cookie on your hard drive. To get the "Off Topic" stuff off your "Today's Posts" you need to find the cookie, fidpw37, contents "under 18" and remove it. Simply clearing the cache or logging out did not work for me. Removing the cookie did.
