"Surfer Jim" radio interview.....

One of my little stories from this weekend was the radio interview I had with.....DESERTBULL.....!

While passing thru contingency Friday in downtown Ensenada I see a white Dodge truck with a big satellite antenna......(the truck looked familiar from photos I had seen).....in front of the truck was a man with a microphone doing a "live" broadcast interview.....another person stood off to the side assisting......I asked the man on the side who was doing the interview......he says "Desertbull".....(we had briefly met several years ago in San Fililpe).

I wanted to say hello and ask some advice on spectator spots ....was asked if I could wait a few minutes until he was done ...."sure".....few minutes go by and was told go see him now......I am thinking he is done with broadcast when I walk over....well to my surprise as I approach he lifts up the mike and introduces "surfer jim" to his listeners...and we procede into another interview!!.....with me this time!!....:o

Now we are talking while the crowd stands around watching and a friend of mine video tapes the goings on....sort of felt like my 15 minutes of fame BAJA style !!......you gotta love going to baja for what it brings you that you may never expect......:tumble:

Yo Amigos!

Hey Capt. Mike---Just back with some time after the latest road trip (6,000 miles across the nation-As Gunny says "Woo-Hoo") and back in The Nomad Nation!

No entry of my 5/1600 Car at the Baja 500 cuz we raced in the Pro-Truck Class! We raced in the #230 Pro-Truck and put her on the podium in 2nd Place! Epic to say the least! The #230 Pro-Truck was driven and is owned by Robbie Pierce / MasterCraft Race Seats-Products and I Crew Chiefed the ordeal with the entire Desertbull Race Team as Robbie's Crew, which included Joey Westhoff who is Britt's boyfriend and splits driving with me in the 5/1600 car was the co-driver for the ordeal! The whole crew stepped up from the 5/1600 for this Baja 500 as Robbie doesn't have a team yet. Since he bought the truck last year we've supported his efforts with Frijolero, LumpDog, BajaBritt, Troy Johnson, Joey, Dez Dad and the entire crew!

The 5/1600 is racing in 2 more races before the Baja 1000 and we're already in the logistic mode to race her down the peninsula! Pit teams and support trucks are being prepped and in progress now...You realize the Baja 1000 is only about 100 days away (mas-y-menos) --Right!

We don't want to use The Nomad Nation as a promotional piece out of respect to the owners...so with that being said you can email me at tim@rockonmotorsports.com and I'll direct you to the rockin' locale.

Surfer Jim -

Dude - That was great that you stopped by and we had a chance to chat. We're having a blast and feeding the Internet airwaves for 6 hours non-stop at the Baja 500 contingency...Thank's for checking in and email me so I can send you some shirts and decals!

Good seeing ya!
