MISSING TEENAGE GIRL - Believed to be in Mexico

Copied from the Lonely Planet - Thorntree - Mexico board

MISSING TEENAGE GIRL - Believed to be in Mexico

Our 16 year old daughter is missing since 5-22-06. We have received some emails from her and believe she is in Mexico, near the beach and working in a restaurant. She left with an adult male (19) in a faded red, 1993 Toyota Corolla. We have published a website with photos and other pertinant info:

http://www.miagranados.com

Please pass this on to anyone you know vacationing or living in coastal Mexico.

Thank you!

Because there are people that think it is funny to put out bogus cries for help, we called 1800 thelost and verified that this is indeed an active case.

And as to the thought she is just missing from her parents, taking a minor into mexico without notarized permission from both parents is a criminal offense in Mexico and a federal offense in the US

Notice that both she and the boyfriend are logging into their myspace accounts today (6/6):

Sparks,

Myspace.com is a web site that many kids use. They can leave messages, list personal information etc. If you click on the Hot Links that Baja Nomad has provided in the above post you will see the site. No relation to this web site, just a link to MySpace.Com

I followed KAT54's link above to Mia's myspace.com account.

Her profile noted that Mia logged into her account today, and also as KAT54 alluded to, Mia's message to her friends is "Hey, wanna go to oregon...."

If you follow the picture of the #1 listed "friend" - named "bam bam" - that'll take you to Felix's myspace.com profile (where Mia is listed as his #1 "friend"), and I noticed that he also had logged into his account there today (06/06) as well.

So, yeah, I'd say that those links are connected to this thread.

Since myspace.com may (or may not) be logging IP addresses, you may want to have the authorities contact myspace.com for their records to find out. If they are logging the IPs, that'll let you (or the authorities anyway) know where they are.

I also noticed that "bam bam" (Felix?) had written this note on Mia's profile page 3 days ago (6/3/2006 6:34 PM):

"Hey! just thought i`d drop by and say hello"

What that is significant of, I couldn't tell you, but is a strange message to leave to someone that is physically in your presence.

Doug

I just had no idea where KAT got a that link and the picture didn't look like her ... so I dismissed it.

I guess this is all the stuff you miss out on if you don't keep up with the newest and greatest toys on the internet.

The plot thickens

Thanks

BTW .... I emailed the info and re-posted on Thorntree

Continued follow-up...

Noticing Mia's myspace account having been signed-into today the 7th as well.

I also pulled up a cached copy of her profile page from Google dated May 1. There's no reference to Oregon at that time. It states "I sketch too hard":

Update: Received an email from Mia's mom last night indicating that she was now safely back at home.

That's good. It makes one wonder if she ran out of money or the boyfriend left her or both or if she finally decided it was a mistake in the first place. Maybe all of the above.
