Would like some info

We are leaving for Baja on Monday and have a couple of questions. Anything on the road condition between Purtecitos and Gonzaga. Any tips for fishing bait or lures for surf/bank fishing on both gulf and Pacific. We will be in Baja until the end of Feb. and thought it would be fun to run into anyone from Nomad that will be down during that time. Let me know where and when. I will be checking this Nomad when I can after I leave.

3 Months in Baja! I wanna go!!!!!

Take plenty of 1 1/2-2 oz krocadiles and lotsa fishtraps (plastic swim baits). Both are easy to cast and both work for alot of the fish that are within casting distance.

Have a great trip.

I was a the pacific side in June north of El Tomatal, fish camp with a couple palapas for rent, plucked some mussels off the rocks at low tide walked over to the beach, stung the mussel on a leaded hook and tossed in the surf. Respectable success.

I've had better luck with 2 oz. Kastmasters in blue and silver. If you have the ability, you should definitely take some squid. However, DO NOT let it get warm as the smell will be overpowering.

Good luck and have fun.

We came out this past Tuesday from Punta Bufeo. The road is fine. Approx 2? hrs to San Felipe w/o driving hard and including a stop of a few minutes in Prtcs.

We went no farther south than Rancho Grande this time, but folks tell me the road out to the hwy is fine also.

Can't help you much on the lures. I fly-fish mostly.
