Fuel prices for August, 2006.
Hi everyone, these are the fuel prices for the current month (only after 20km south of border with the US):
Magna.............$ 6.35 pesos per liter
Premium..........$ 7.50 pesos per liter
Diesel..............$ 5.21 pesos per liter
These prices are in liters, and 1 gallon = 3.7854 liters.
Today (August 10, 2006) 1 dollar = $ 10.80 pesos (+/-)
Using the previous information, this is what we have....
Magna............$ 2.225 dollars per gallon.
Premium.........$ 2.628 dollars per gallon.
Diesel.............$ 1.826 dollars per gallon.
Remember that the fuel prices 20 km along the US border are being locally matched to those in the States, therefore, they are higher than further in
Baja.
Safe Travel...!!!

Thanks Antonio.
I will be filling up at your station on my way south on the 19th.
Definitely worth waiting to fill up the 5 gallon cans at that time too

And he is definitely correct about the border prices.
We spent two days in Guadalupe, then headed North with an empty tank so we could fill up in Tecate just before crossing.
Dumb!!! Very Dumbbbbb!!!!!
Same price as Norte California.

Diesel is the same price inland or at the border. Only the gasolines are marked up in the border areas. I filled up in Mexicali yesterday 5.21 ppl
Same as the day before in San Felipe.

Restrooms...
Hi Bruce... you are right. Our current facilities are very old and they were never designed for the number of people using them now.
A little more than a year ago, we designed new, bigger, nicer restrooms... and I think everyone will be amazed with what we came up because we put a
lot of effort to make them really GREAT.
Unfortunately, because of our Pemex franchise, even though they put no money at all, we are obligated to have our blueprints authorized by Pemex. So,
we presented our restrooms project back then, and we are still waiting for the green light...
In the meantime we are just waiting... and doing our best with what we have... which I believe it is not enough.

Bruce had the courage to say what the rest of us have been thinking.
Yes, it has been a frustration to continually recommend your place, Antonio, knowing that the restrooms do not measure up.
The sooner the better, for sure.
They do not represent the integrity of your operation.

Where are you going? |
A spot on the pacific coast between Faro San Jose' and Punta Blanca. Usually guaranteed some Halibut and sometimes White Sea Bass. If the fishermen
stop by we get longosta too!
We set up camp for a week to 10 days and just soak up the good Baja vibes . It's
60 miles off the pavement, so we hardley see another moving vehicle the entire time. |
I just pulled that up on the map, and it looks wonderfully desolate. Have a great time and enjoy those Adventure trailers.

Due East is a long long way

Go due east to the Pacific. (remembering that most Baja maps do not have north straight up.)
That's approximately where it is
[Edited on 8-14-2006 by Taco de Baja] |
By my map that would make it about 24,000 miles, plus or minus...
