Viva BajaCactus 2006... by the city!!! (What would you like to do?).
Hi guys... I would like some input, from your point of view, of possible places to visit in Tijuana. The idea is to have a guided tour on a VIP bus,
which would pick up everyone on the US side and take the group back at the end of the day.
From the places in this poll, we will choose the ones with the most votes, and I will try to get access to our group.
If you think of some place not included here, please post it so we may add it to the list.
Thank you.... let us make this a nice trip!!!
Antonio M.

Antonio, unfortuately you can only vote for one item. So, perhaps from the list, people can post their choices.
My vote would include the brewery and CECUT museum. I fear that in the busy market places or Revolucion Ave. we would lose some Nomads!
If we could have use of the smaller theatre in CECUT, I hope to have a Baja author provide us with a slide presentation...
Somewhere where we can mill about to meet and talk with each other is good, too. The Tijuana Brewery's upstairs beer garden/ restaurant may be
perfect.

The Mercado Hidalgo is only a couple of blocks from CECUT.

How about a winery - one of the lesser known ones, with grounds for a picnic. We could have pot luck for desserts and snacks; hire a mariachi band
and have some catered food brought in or set up a BBQ, and everyone bring their own food to put on the grill. A couple coolers on the bus could keep
everything cold.
We could go to the Omnimax theatre and museum first.

If we mean wineries are we talking about the Guadalupe Valley and NOT Tijuana? If so, Monte Xanic has a FABULOUS picnic area with a nice pond!

The fiesta will involve a bus tour to a few places of interest in Tijuana... A fun time for Nomads and other Baja folks... no driving hassles. The
Tijuana Beer Brewery is one place for sure, the L.A. Cetto facility in Tijuana and Agua Caliente race track tour is a couple other thoughts... a nice
dinner location to wrap up the day with a few interesting people to tell us about their Baja books or ??
Please continue to post your thoughts... Antonio wants to have so much to give us and won't take a centavo for all his efforts. So, know that the day
in Tijuana will be quite special and of no large financial burden.
I do think CECUT is always a good choice... see photos of Antonio's first Tijuana Cultural Festival at CECUT: http://vivabaja.com/fiesta

Museum and Brewery
I am getting so excited about this trip, I can't wait to see everybody. DK's parties are always a good time and I really do appreciate the efforts you
put into them David. I think the brewery and museum would be outstanding. I also like the idea of a potluck or Bar BQ.

Thanks M, they are only as great as the people who attend... You and Mary Ann have always been of great assistance... Sally South (Msal) and Brandi at
#4 made that one happen as well!
While this Viva Baja party will be different, it should be a blast as Antonio (BajaCactus) is the big helper here... so much so, that I suggested it
be renamed Viva Baja Cactus.
Stay tuned for continued developments!

The latest details are a day of fun visiting a few places around Tijuana and we will be traveling V.I.P. style in buses the originate in San Diego.
Nomads (and non-Nomads) joining us from the south may be able to join us at the first stop...?
The day will finish at a good (inexpensive) restaurant where we may get to hear from some Baja authors and others who have something to share... what
I call 'Baja Show and Tell'.
IF you would like to discuss your book, Baja related business, or a door prize donation please email me at info*at*vivabaja.com and put 'Viva Baja
Cactus' in the subject line
