Just curious!
How many of you newby's came aboard because of the mention of the site in the Union Tribune?
Welcome to you all of you.
Here is a saying I coined a while back---"Baja is about friends helping friends." Simple, but most true on this forum.

I've noticed a lot of newbies as of late, and wondered why. I think it's great to have a constant growing, evolving, infusion of new and different,
people/views/backgrounds. Again welcome. But I must warn you about Bernie
As soon as to turn your back, he'll say something nice about you. So be ware!!!

Bernie,
Site traffic jumped beginning Aug20/Aug21.
I'm guessing it's a combination of the recent events along the highway/coast, the SDUT article about it, the Hurricane John information (which tends
to bring a lot more traffic when those unfortunate events occur) - and people getting ready/information for a Labor Day weekend trip.
I would imagine that by the end of the day today there will have been somewhere around 13,000 unique visitors to the forums here for the month of
August (most ever - by just a little bit). Through the year (2006) so far, it's been 9,500-10,500 unique visitors each month.
Except for Sunday (1600), there have been 1800-2000 visits per day every day since Aug 23rd. Earlier in the month it was more like 1000-1400 visits
each day. Wednesdays are the biggest days (gearing up for the weekend)... and weekends are slowest (everyone's gone!).
Also, as an interesting aside... the UT article doesn't mention the discussion in the "forums" area of the bajanomad.com site.... and there have been
a great many people (20-30?) since the article that have been signing up to my old Yahoo Group I had been using before the new forums here were setup.
Probably my bad having that still up... but I've notified them that the information that used to be presented there is now here - and provided a
link.
Regards,
--
Doug

For you Newby's
Sonora Wind is a fireman who wanders about squelching fires without ever mussing a hair. He is also one hell of a good cook.
And he seldom gets tickets while traveling in Baja. Oh! Yes he would never be caught in less than the fanciest of rigs.
So now you see he is right about me--I always 'try' to say nice things about folks---that's why you will find that I don't say anything about a few.
Here is another---"Remember that civilization begins at the end of a dirt road." AND "Once the dust of Baja settles on you shoulders you may never
shake it off."
Okay, now you may have guessed that I like to write stuff about Baja and it's wonderful people.
Saludos

Looks like you have gotten what David K would describe as Baja Fever.
