Update on Cabo San Lucas

Hello Amigos and Amigas,

Thank you truly for the many phone calls and emails of care and concern we received over the last several days .. Everyone we know within the storms affects is grateful for the prayers, well wishes and the consideration by caring people everywhere ...

The outer bands of HJ dropped some more rain last night but as my inserted note below states, this was not as bad for Cabo proper as it could have been .. not what the newschannels are/were showing.. Some were taken on Lazaro Card##as across from the Puerto Paraiso main entrance but most others seemed to have been from other locales ...

At this time our staff and crews are assessing boats, the marina, roads, hotels, airport, overall conditions in general and we will post all future updates on our website on the Daily Report page.

We know La Paz electricity and many phone lines are not working .. as soon as we can reach family via cell we will post what we can find out.

The AIRPORT is open ...

Our administrator is with the Port Captain doing assessment of the marina at this time .. we expect a decision from the PC within 3hrs (mas o menos) if he will open the port Sunday.

Dear Friends:

We are fortunate and most grateful to report that things here in Cabo San Lucas just arent so bad ..
Wind? yes but not sustained hurricane force

Rain? yes but not constant and few heavy/hard downpours

Humidity? yup its that time of year

Floods? some - Good evidence that the development of infrastructure is having a positive effect.

Also thanks to the natural geo-design of the region the waters flow mostly unimpeded to the Pacific Ocean/Sea of Cortez.

Good news? Definitely

Did you know that following a storm the fishing & catching is usually nothing short of phenomenal!

Ask anyone who has fished after a storm has passed!

Cordially,
Tommy & Lori Garcia
