San Felipe Book Stores?; Swap Meet?

Speaking of books...how many if any book stores are there in San Felipe? And are there any used book stores? Planning on retiring down there some time in the future but haven't checked out bookstores yet. I saw a book store noted on a map but don't recall seeing it. Does anyone know anything about the flea market/swap meet that's held on Saturdays? I just heard about it but have not been there to check it out. Just used stuff or local crafts people or? Any info would be appreciated.

There is one book store in San Felipe. It is upstairs near the main intersection in town. For more info see http://www.blueroadrunner.com (next door to book store).

There was a swap meet at El Dorado Ranch on Saturday mornings. I believe they start up in October but due to construction this year, in the area where the swap meet was held, I am not sure if/where it will be this winter.

I have been to that bookstore, and If I could just put a bed in there I would be in heaven for the rest of my life, and I am not yet 40. So I would imagine that the lady has at least 4k books. And a lot of great ones. I bought some last time I was there.

It's called the San Felipe Title Company. It is the best little bookstore in the whole world in my opinion. It's at the main intersection, upstairs above the sales office for Playa del Paraiso Condos. Next door upstairs is a very good coffee cafe.

Been to the bookstore

It is a wonderful little store. They have a very nice Baja section. Prices are competitive with USA bookstores on Baja books - no giveaways - but they're in business for a profit and I've gotten some nice things there.

But with books, if they have the title you are looking for you'd better get it while you can. Too many times I've passed up a book hoping for a better deal only to regret I didn't get it when I first saw it.

Baja related books are only a small part of the inventory but I haven't browsed through anything else so I cannot comment on the prices on that stuff.

Another place in San Felipe for books is the Animal Rescue thrift store (seaward side of the airport road, couple of blocks from the traffic circle).

The word I got yesterday is the Swap Meet at Eldorado will open 9/30/06

Until I hear different I will assume it's at El Cachanilla as usual.

The Swap Meet at El Cachanilla will stay at El Cachanilla even while construction is happening I am told now.
