Actually I have never aspired to be anything but an occasional contributor. My "count" would still be much lower if I had not exposed myself to the slur-fest on the off-topic forum. It does seem that there are some who post simply to see the numbers on their odd-ometer roll over.

I AM proud to be a small part of this little fraternity, and look, this thread gave several people a chance to increase their post count!:P

Heck, Skeet !

Even I am a member of AARP, although I've never spent any money with them other than the yearly membership fee. I doubt anymore that the Politicos in D.C. and elsewhere believe that AARP can deliver their membership on any given issue.

I confess that as a newbie I made silly and irrelevant posts just to become a junior nomad more quickly. But I found that status also to be less than fullflilling, so I went on posting humiliating drivel, thinking that quantity alone would make me a true nomad.
Well, it worked!! So now I can sit back and enjoy the various conversations here, and make my contibution only when I have a truly meaningful or hilariously funny thought.
I have even reduced my average number of posts per day from 1.5 to 1.2! Numbers, stars, statistics? They don't mean a thing to me :dudette:

You're funny Paula!

As for what Diver said: "No David,

Your number of posts is obscene !!"

I plead guilty... however keep in mind I am the oldest (or is that longest) active Nomad on this forum (after Doug, 'Baja Nomad' himself... aka The Creator) coupled with the fact I do love sharing my thoughts and information on Baja.

Anyway, this beats T.V. or boozing... most of the time!:lol::lol:

Skeet. My learned friend. I also wonder about AARP & their "hidden agenda"!!!! However. I look forward to the monthly issues for reading & their "insurance, etc" Do you have knowledge of a replacement for me if I were to give up my membership in AARP??????????????????

Skeet-----------

-------I am with you----I refuse to send in my money anymore to AARP and have been doing that for about 2 years-----drives their computer crazy as it sends me monthly membership bills now---what a waste of money.

Their "Agenda" is just to far left for me, and I do not want them representing me anymore.

There's a down side to the counting. When posts were deleted from the Off-Topic forum to make more space, a lot my posts disappeared and my status was set back considerably.

Being a sorehead, I no longer take the time to click on an advertiser's site befpre reading any posts, as I had almost always done previously.
