Wanting to move to Baja

Hi All
I am new to the site, but have been looking it over for the past two months. I like seeing all the different info because my husband & I want to move closer to home. We are now living on Roatan Island off of Honduras. We would like it to be some where between Bahia de los Angeles and South of Loreto by Bahia Agua Verde. Any info on where we can find a nice small peace of property on a nice beach?
Thank you for your time.

There are too many choices at too many prices to specify one. Somewhat different weather from BLA to Loreto and different fishing, levels of services, distance from airports, etc.
You need to come look for yourselves.

BLA, San Bruno, Punta Chivato, Mulege, Loreto and many more in between !!

Agua Verde area is awesome but a serious oven in the summer for living there. Just go in the summer to get the idea....hang out there and ask lots of people but be very careful to check our titles before you buy...best to rent first to see if ya like it...there are lots of great places in baja if you look hard.

Thank you Diver & Shari for the info.
It has been a long time since I have been to Baja, but all I know is we want to get back to Mexico. We love it there, the Island is nice too, just not Mexico.

Where do you think the best place to dive in Baja is?

My only experiences in Baja other than some local reef diving has been around BLA and Loreto and offshore La Paz. I've also dropped onto some sea mounts in the Cortez while fishing off Mulege'/Chivato.
All were interesting dives.
I'm planning to try the pacific side near Shari's this winter.

Came out to dive with the dophin in your area back in '88.
Stayed in a palapa on a dock with a past lust.
Now that's a nice place to dive !
Where is your place in Roatan ? On the water ? Near of boat launch/dock ?
I have a friend who may be interested.

We look forward to taking you out to San Roque island to dive/snorkel the steamship wreck there and maybe the mystery cave...It's so lovely there, huge kelp forests, clear water, tons of fish, dolphins, sea lions, great spearfishing too. We are south of Tortugas and north of Abreojos and my husband is an abalone diver.

IL've been in this area of the coast for 18 years and adore it. Great climate year round, nice humble folks, hardly any gabachos, awsome beaches, dive sights, fishing, surfing, hiking and dancing!! cheap lots still available. Come out and visit and we'll show you around....

I have, by the passage of time and lack or communication, lost track of my Bay Island friends. Do you know and are you in contact with:

1) Ray Lopez, as I recall his girlfriend/wife was ?? Last contact they had two children. Ray was employeed by Romeo's in diving. He was a very knowledgeable well trained instructor, a product of LA County & NAUI

2) Romero & Connie Sylvestri who were running the Romeos resort and a great crab leg eatery in town.

Do you know them?
How are they?

Inquiring minds want to know?????

Hi Dean

Yes I know Ray,
He & Michelle are no longer together, she now lives in La Ceba with the boy's & Ray has his own dive shop & small hotel here in West End.

I also know Connie & Romeo
They still have Casa Romeo's Hotel & Restaurant & Connie works at Hyde Shipping so I see her there almost every week. They are both doing good & still happy as can be. I import food here to the Island from the States so that is why I see her so much. Right now she & Romeo are in Italy for 2 weeks & there sun is opening a restaurant is West End at the end of the year.
Any messages you want me to give them? I will do so

Yes,
Please extend my regards to Ray and boys. All is well in California --LA Co UIA is going strong. I have retired and writing.

Connie; The LEMPS established at Romeos that night so long ago is alive and well --now about 3 feet long. Hope all is well with you! Betty and I were in Italy last summer--Great!
