Put me in the column who think that these "How Many" threads are silly and are getting out of hand.

I guess that the answer would be for EVERYONE to open a "How Many" thread. A few hundred would, no doubt, require administrative action.

Of course, it's easy enough to simply ignore them. Eventually, it will work out somehow.

Addendum:

I just noticed that there is one for "Baja Nose-Pickers". I'm surprised it only shows 10 responses. Based on observances, there are lots of those.

I've really enjoyed the HOM MANY threads as it gives me a little insight into the lives of the Nomads I have grown to love and respect and those I don't care much for too...the nomad profiles don't give much info at all but it's cool to find out who's who in this zoo! Also it gives me an idea of what folks are like before they come to visit us...nice to have a little background. Different strokes for different blokes ya'll.....aguanta...put up with it or go eat worms! Viva sillyness!

I agree here. A little silliness is harmless and fun. And it reveals more about the writer. What a great group here. I've ignored the nose picker posts but only becauses I'm not in that group.

I've almost posted: How many Deadheads are on this Board? Saw Jerry driving crazily on Hgy. 19 recently.

Had I realized that my post on the nose-picker was going to provide anyone with insight into the Real Me, I would not have mentioned the nose hairs.

I guess I really am an instigator. I shoulda just left the cops to do their own thing again.

I really was shooting for some teamwork for a carpentry party for Mulege. Looks like we may have a three man crew.

Basta! No Mas! Time to head for Fred's place

To all you Newbies that blew in with the big storm,
Welcome, and here is some advice,
When it gets too silly (stupid) over here,
Just go on over to Fred's board,
It is quiet, relaxed, informative, and not silly,
Just some advice from an 'oldie', do with it what you will.

The nice part about Fred's place is that when people get silly/stupid then Fred and Tim just zap it off the page.
Dumb stuff has a half life of zippppo!
That is why it is an 'oasis' when things get out of hand here.

The "Free Speech" demonstrated by some of the so-called "Free Speech Groups" is nothing but a DISPLAY OF FEAR', they are in Fear of what the Speaker may Say, because of their Weak-minds.

Their understanding of Truth, leaves a lot to be Desired!

A Nomad who has traveled Baja, knows the People and some of the History has a much better understanding of Life, their own Culture and that of the Mexican People.

The exception to the above is those that go to Baja to Get Drunk, use Drugs, Go Naked on the Beech, and do those other things that they might feel constrained to do in the States.

SEEM to be a big advocate of FREE SPEECH. Yet when someone expresses their opinion, you jump all over them and call them a "CHILD." I GUESS FREE SPEECH DOESN'T APPLY TO EVERYONE!!
I never said everyone had to conform to my idea of "TOO MANY." I was only offering MY opinion of the postings.

However, when someone turns on the Nomad board trying to read "Baja" subject matter, should we really have to filter through all the silliness on the TODAY'S POSTINGS" to try and read something about Baja?? In my humble, FREE SPEECH opinion, I don't think so.

AND...TO THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK WE NEED TO HAVE SOME HUMOR...

I couldn't agree more...I LOVE humor and think there should be more of it in our world!! But there is a place and time for everything, and sometimes it can be TOO much.

As an example...I love to read the comics/funny pages in the paper. I read them everyday, always have and always will. BUT...I take the paper to read the NEWS. If it was 50 pages of comics and 3 pages of news stories, I'd be looking for another source for my news stories.

So, what I'm saying is...I like to read the Nomad Board and I don't want to go to some other board to get my Baja news and information!!!!

And Hey...no matter how much you disagree with me and MY opinion, I still like ALL of you!

Michael

GOOD to see that there are people that are NOMADS by spirit. After lots of pressure and desperation after JOHN it was a need to just vent of some of the moods. Being silly is ONE way.
And Michel: I agree as much with you as with QuepasaBaja and the rest of people,I am for TOLERANCE for all people, Like to hear from ALL, whatever they have to say. As long as it's not insulting. Or harassing.Or threatening.
Respecting other peoples way of thinking or enjoying something.I just can learn from others, isn't it?
Humor is defined by "laughing about yourself", some can't.:(
Can there be TOO MANY'S of something that feels good?
Just when it comes to my stomach - than it can be too many of something :fire: can tell you....on another thread ?

I AGREE WITH YOU FARASHA AND QUEPASA...

It really doesnt do any good to take things so seriously and get all P.O'd. about it. People don't need to call names and make fun of somebody else's shortcomings, postings or whatever.

And like I said, I LOVE humor. But sometimes, it can go too far. Like when I see the comedian Robin Williams on Jay Leno. He's funny for awhile, but then he seems to get crazier as he goes on. He never knows when to stop. He keeps making jokes and comments even while the next guest is on and it's their turn to have the spotlight.

Michael ... :tumble: :P

BTW Farasha...you have quite a good sense of humor and know how to have a little fun with some of your replies...LOL.
