Nomads ROCK!

It is obvious we are all 'Baja folk' or we wouldn't be on this board in the first place. When you first open this site, you have many options regarding discussions of various subjects. When one chooses 'general discussion' we should be able to do just that. It is always asked at one time or another, "what does this have to do with Baja"? everything. When I go to a baja gathering to meet other Nomads many things are discussed, jobs, vehicles, spouses, even farts and nose picking. Baja is not just a place, it's a frame of mind. Being on a general discussion board with other baja nomads is EVERYTHING to do with baja, even if the subject matter covers many areas, silly or serious. Now, how many siamese cat owners are out there?
hugs,
M

Thats what I thought too M, but seems some Nomads don't.
When I joined the BOARD I thought the folks here are Nomads by spirit as I am.
Had a tru NOMADe (a desert dweller) teaching me the philosophy of it, with a simple Rhyme
"strong as the desert, (with the stamina and endurance to go through Life)
soft as the sea, (wellcoming all with tolerance)
walking with the wind(adapt to changes),
for ever Free ! (to be flexible in mind and have room for all)"

And NO Sorry, I'm not owing a SIAMESE CAT-but they are cute and lovely! And being a NOMADE most of my life I can't afford to keep a cat now, will happen again when I'm settling finally.
a hug in return F

But, it is not a "Chat Room"

M, I must respectfully disagree with your assent to the new wave of chatter.... sorry Luv, but we are on different pages.

Discussion is wonderful, that is why we are here.

Chat Room is for another breed of folks, and I fear that that is somehow where Nomad has headed in recent weeks.
(I have had private messages from others who carry that same thought, by the way)

So, simple answer, if we can discuss, and exchange ideas and info, as in the past, then terrific.

If Nomad turns into a Chat Room, well, then I, for one, am OUTTA HERE!!!

Hope that clarifies what some of us oldtimers feel,

And, if the majority rules and chat prevails, so be it.

It just won't include some of us geezers.

(Hugs, anyway)

Hi Runner..

Yes, I can see your point of view and respect it also, however, I still feel that occasional silliness is a relief to slow board days, and it also offers an opportunity to explore different sides to peoples personality. I love the humorous banter. If some Nomads resent a particular thread, they simply don't have to open it, just scroll down untill you find a thread that is 'acceptable'. MANY people have posted on the silly threads, so I would have to assume that those threads serve a purpose after all. Should those Nomads be denied THEIR interests because a few object? There are 2 groups on this board, 1) ALL/ONLY Baja talk, 2)Baja Nomads enjoying all discussions on the general discussion board. I know what group you are in Runner, I'm in the other, I just hope you don't think any less of me because of it, and I certainly hope we don't loose any Nomads over silly resentments. :)
Hugs to all, even the grouches,
M

MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm

No hard feelings, pretty lady.
I am not quite as polarized as you think,
however, your class 2, as noted, is clearly not a focus that this board is all about.
I don't mind some occasional personal stuff,
but, I keep the personal off the board.
For instance, Bernie and I do a lot of communicating, about the book, about current events, etc.
You guys don't want to hear all that (nor do we wish to share it)
Actually, the last few days it has smoothed out and looks like the initial wave of chat chat has passed, let us hope so.
Cheers, hugs, and all that

I thought this was pretty good. Not a belly laugh, maybe, but a good one nonetheless.

I mean baja carpenters, of course. ;D
