A blinking left signal light could also mean someone has inadvertently not turned off their signal. This happend to me once, but fortunately the truck driver would prevent my passing him by entering the left lane. An uncoming car would eventually appear and I was trying to figure out why he was telling me it was ok, and then prevent me from passing. He was definitely watching out for my safety, but his signal was constantly blinking for miles and miles. And even if the trucker signals an "Ok to pass", the determination as to distance, speed and safety is ultimately yours. On my last trip, although the truckers kindly signaled appropriately, they would underestimate my ability to get up the speed necessary to pass them in my 4 cyl.

DK Left turn Signal

Dave you are right this is a great story and I appreciate the post.

I travel often in central Mexico and the Left Blinker to pass is common their as well. Everyone needs to be very careful passing, even when someone signal the move.
