Need a few Good Writers

Hello all. With permisson from our wonderful host, I am posting this offer.

I have a site called QuePasaBaja.com it is a blog, and is updated usually on a daily basis. I live in North Baja Rosarito Beach to be exact, and it is tuff for me to get the news of events in Southern Baja.

So, here is what I am looking for. If you just have the time to write an article about an event that took place, ( We try to stay on the positive side ) or maybe something that will take place ( current event) or maybe you have something to say about a business ( weather you own it or not ), then we want to hear about it.

To start, we will want you to send the articles to us in an e-mail in wordformat attached would be great, and if you have any photos to go along with the article attach them as well. Once we get to know each other, we will give you access to the interface and teach you to just make the posts your self.

If you are interested, contact me, and send me an article. You dont have to be a pro, just have something to say.

Send to info@quepasabaja.com plaese make the subject NOMAD ARTICLE.

And let us know when the article points towards something that you might want to advertise.

Thanks a ton guys. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hola Que Pasa...

I just looked at your site and was curious about this post:

Mexicali - San Felipe Highway Expansion

Posted 10/28/06 in Baja Info | 0 Comments | Write Comment

The expansion of the San Felipe - Mexicali highway is to begin the first week of October.

The first thirty kilometers of the four-lane highway will cost $118 million pesos.

Governor Eugenio Elorduy will join Mexicali’s Mayor in San Felipe for the groundbreaking of the first nine kilometers of highway. Work on the remaining twenty-one kilometers will begin in January, during the current administration.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It says the first week of October work is to begin... yet it was posted Oct. 28th... DID the work begin? Is it October of some future year??

I am guessing this is for 30 kms. from San Felipe going north?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who are the readers of your blog page and how do they hear about it?

The highway expansion did start early October. I have made two trips in October and they have made tremendous progress. The challenge is to raise the bed next to the existing highway. They are bringing in dirt, and then leveling it with a gravel base. They are literally starting just a 1/4 mile from the arches and heading north, I'm impressed at the amount of equipment being utilized.

Keep up the good work guys!

Haven't had a bad trip yet....

We got ahold of that article about the expansion a little late. But wanted to post it any way, as a lot pf people did not know that it wasn going on.

It is funny that here in mexico, when they really set thier minds to a task like that expansion, they will move at a really fast pace. Until that is someone finds a way to make a few pesos, by slowing it down.

at any rate, we try and give all sorts of news to the visitors.

As for where our traffic comes from. I would have to say that 80 to 90% is from Search Engines, and right now we get more than 1000 uniques a day from MSN Search, close to 800 uniques from Google, and another 250 to 400 from other smaller search engines. This site is still growing, and we will be adding other blogs about Baja.

Please dont take me wrong. Quepasabaja.com is not a Forum for people to post on like this one. Yes you can post comments, but it is more about sending out the information to the visitors.

We are NOT trying to take people from here. We just want to get some of the news about thigns going on south of us. Thats where you guys come in.

Thanks.

Now tell me why on earth I would want to censor anything from readers? We are adults, and can make a decision on what we click and what we dont.

Its just like a book in the library that we dont agree with. We dont check it out.

I think that you fail tounderstand that there is very little on that site that these " KIDS " have not seen before. And very little they can not pick up in barnes and Noble.

And any kid with 50$ and hair on his balls can cross the border, go into Tijuana, and find a hooker.

If there are kids going to my site, it is the praents that should be watching what they are doing. Not me. That article contains not obscene material, and no nudity.

I think Jim has a good point about the link. I don't let my kids go to Barnes and Noble alone and I now the sails people wont let them in to the adult books.

then we dont have to worry as the parrents will be sitting next to thier children and stopping them from entering the sites that they should not.

Or do you honestly think that every site on the internet should have an adults only area, and we should have to hand out passwords? And how would we verify the age?

It is more reasonable for the parents to watch what the kids do.
