where can I buy 12 volt low wattage light bulbs

Does anyone know where I can get some low wattage 12 volt light bulbs...like 11 watt that puts out 50 watts?? they look like those double tube ones? Anybody heading this way that could drop them off either here or with Sirena in Guerrero Negro?

I can/will look at RV spots inroute. I think you mean floerescents. How many ???Please measure the base the Yuasa batterie sits on if it isn't on a bike or equipment it doesn't matter but if it is pls advise. They come in different sizes, do remember the crank capacity of the one you had ???
Have a great day

shari...along with RV stores, Wal-marts, etc...those are sometimes sold in auto parts stores also. You never know...you might get a pleasant surprise.

p.s. Also someone may find them at Home Depot or Lowes.

Shari: Are you talking about the bi-pin type like I've pictured. We also use some "bayonet" types that come in 9-11 watt. I have usually found them as replacement for "malibu" patio lights. The one's like pictured are MR 11 at 20 watts and MR 16 at 50 watts. They come in both flood and spot. Be sure to use the MR's with a UV filtering glass cover lens. Without it they can damage your eyes.

I think what your are looking for is called a "Compact Flourescent" bulb. They have a small ballast in the base and the tube plugs into the base. The whole thing screws into a regular light fixture.

Now I think I have figured out what you are looking for, you will probably need to find a electrical supply house. My Ace Hardware stocks them, but I'm still 500 mile from you. We get them from a speciality electrical supply.

Are you looking for the whole unit or just replacement tubes?:?::?::?:

Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

gracias amigos for the response...years ago a solar guy came here and sold us some awesome 12 volt light bulbs for $20 a piece that screw into normal lamps but they have a heavier base and 2 tube like bulbs and are 11 watts and lasted for years at our beach house...that is until some nomads decided to fire up their 110v generator which blew out all my 12 volt bulbs...oops. Anyway I REALLY need some more and the low wattage is great as the battery lasts longer. Also in need of deep cycle battery, golf cart are great! Hey Bruce, do those newfangled LED types available in someething you can screw into a normal light socket? Where can I get em?
There are lots of 12v lights but most are too high wattage.

12VDC Lights

If you're talking about the 12VDC Florescents that screw into a standard 120V socket base, I bought mine from: www.backwoodssolar.com.

They are available ina 7 to 23 Watts (325 to 1800 Lumens). $18 to $24 each.

I have done a Google search for 11 watt florescent bulbs and came up with these for $7.99 apiece. Are these what you are looking for?

Looks like the price has come down if these are the bulbs.

Bit confusing,

I think I have found some options:

http://www.solarseller.com/dc_fluorescent_lights__12___24_vo...

http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product/33503?HCR=OTC-booyahfeed...

http://store.altenergystore.com/Lighting-Fans/Compact-Floure...

Steca ESL11W 12V Fluorescent Lamp

http://store.altenergystore.com/Lighting-Fans/Compact-Floure...

Phocos CL1211C 12V, 11 W Cool, CFL Lamp

Don't know which you want. Think these are what you are looking for. 12 volt, 11 watts, edison base. Some are compact and some are regular size

Yep, that's what Shari is asking for. Her Beach House is run on 12 volt, (like a car) but she is using 110volt light fixtures, (like a house) and she needs bulbs to fit her existing fixtures, like the ones you posted above. In fact, exactly like the ones you posted above.

Good research Junior!:light:
