Pescado "Culiche"

I was just in Nogales yesterday and a Mexican friend turned me on to this dish at Mariscos Chihuahua. Major yummy and, from what I understand, only available in restaurants up north. It's a baked fish fillet swimming in a green sauce of mild chile poblanos and cheese. Look for it in your travels. - Stephanie

From the name, I'd guess this must be a recipe from Culiacan (I used to have a Culichi yerno).

Oh, is that where the name comes from???

The friend who I was eating with, from Queretaro, said the dish is only available in the northern states. Initially, the name of the dish didn't seem that appetizing to me, if ya know what I mean..... But it proved itself to be way more yummy than the name sounds. - Stephanie:yes:
