Grief, mostly---------
Im building a house in the Punta Banda area. Building it myself because I needed a project. It was my plan to build and sell then, move back to the states because of health reasons it would be better to be closer to services which I'm connected to.
This morning I learned that the large tract which I'm building on is in negotiation to be sold to the Marriot Hotel for development which includes a golf course right over my lots.
This is a small residential community which has had slow growth throughout the years and recently has been a site for mobile homes and my stationary house.
Prospective tenants are now told that they will only be given a ten year "rental agreement" and at any time could be told to remove their property.
The point is, I now can't sell my property. It is worthless. I still have to spend thirty to forty thousand dollars to complete the job, not to mention my labor. Who in their right mind would want it after I gave them full disclosure?
I've decided to cut my losses and quit construction. My plan was to return to the states and I will.

I am accepting all of this. It happens when anybody doesn't protect himself but, I took the chance. I can live with the money loss.....I have more.

Sorry for the downer on a Christmas thread but I had to get it out.

By the way .......... does anybody have a couple of pounds of C4 for sale?

Oh Dennis, That SUCKS! I'm so sorry you are going through that, and don't sweat "getting it out", we are always here for you. Sounds like that is your only option, just walk away. Sounds like you learned an expensive lesson, but, next time you will be better armed. Here is a BIG HUG for you..... M

Hose A, I'LL bite, WHAT did you get Magda?

4Baja, did you promise yourself that camper? Criminy Christmas, go get it!
Obviously, too big for Santa's sleigh...Hugs, M

For my wife Shirley, this is one xmas to remember. On Saturday she tried to hang a picture standing on a chair and fell. She landed on her left foot in great pain. She didn't want to go to the hospital to have it check so we packed it in ice, Sunday it was black and blue and swollen. Off to the emergency room. There were three people ahead of us. After 2 1/2 hours they finally take her in to look at it. Wait another 1/2 hour then to xrays. Another 1/2 hour and over to urgent care and waited another 1/2 hour for a specialist to come in from downtown to wrap it in a splint. She broke 2 bones. When the swelling goes down they're putting it in a cast. She's using a walker and kind of hopping to get around since she can't put weight on it.

This is a bummer since we probably won't make Bajalou's turkey feist this Sunday. This is her third trip to the emergency room this year. The other two were due to her asthma which she finally got under control and now this. I sure hope 2007 is better and glad 2006 is coming to an end.

BELIEVE me, I know what HELL emegency rooms are. 16 times for me in 05, 9 times in 06. 9 admissions in those 2 years. wouldn't wish any of it on my worst enemies. Hospitals are satans lairs. Send her my best and a big hug (even though FDT is trying to bah humbug them). I hope 07 is the best for you both.

Wow Tom - too bad. Haven't had any broken bones, but hear they are terrible. Hope she gets back on her feet soon.

I'll save you a turkey sandwich for the next time you're down. Expect you'll be here for the 250.

Tell here howdy and get well real soon--
