rosarito to mexicali

Ok, I have to be in Rosarito on Thursday around noon and then go to Mexicali. I am wondering what is the best way to go. I was thinking of the new road from the fox studios to The toll road then to tecate but was worryed about the check points on that road.
Would it be better to go down to Ensenada and take that new road to tecate and on to Mexicali on that toll road.( I'm going south of Mexicali) Any ideas would help
Thanks Mick

Getting there is ALL the fun!
Ok being here is fun to

Mick, from Rosarito try the Blvd. 2000 road, as everyone raves about it... What checkpoints?

Get on the toll road at the end of Blvd. 2000 (Big Horn Sheep monument)... 3 tolls to the desert and after you climb out of the Laguna Salada valley take the new toll road that goes south of Mexicali to Hwy. 5 (and beyond)...

Photos of Blvd. 2000 jcn. at Hwy. 1 (by Fox Baja Studios) are on the Discover Baja web site (new newsletter)...
